This site is meant for reading, not for watching you. It collects as little as possible, and only what it needs to do what you ask of it.

What we collect, and why
When you simply visit the site
Our hosting provider receives the technical data every website receives: your IP address, your browser and device type, and the page you ask for. That is needed to show you the page and to keep the site secure. We do not use analytics cookies, advertising trackers or tracking pixels.
We do count how often each keynote page is opened. That count is stored without your name, email address or any other detail that identifies you.
When you create a reader account
To download an executive brief or keep a personal library, you create a reader account with your email address and your first and last name. You sign in with a link sent to your email address, so there is no password to remember. The same account works on whydatawins.com.
We use these details to give you access to what you asked for. The legal basis is the performance of the service you request.
When you subscribe to the newsletter
We keep your email address and the date and time of your consent. We use it only to send you the newsletter. The legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time through the link in every newsletter or from your account page.
When you leave feedback after a keynote
The feedback form asks for your words, your name, and optionally your role, organisation and the event. We also ask your email address, only to contact you about your feedback. Your email address is never shown or shared.
Your words appear on the site only if you tick the box that allows it, and only after we have reviewed them. The legal basis is your consent. You can ask us at any time to take your words off the site.
When you book or contact us
The "Book me" button takes you to the booking page of FuturuZ. What you enter there is handled under the privacy terms shown on that page. If you email us, we use your message and address only to reply.
What is stored in your browser
The site does not place tracking cookies. It does keep a few small items in your browser's local storage, only so the site works the way you expect:
- your language choice on the Insights page;
- the last executive brief you opened, so you return to it after signing in;
- your sign-in session, if you have a reader account.
You can clear these at any time through your browser settings.
Who helps us run the site
We work with a small number of service providers. They process data only on our instructions and only for the purpose described.
- Netlify hosts the website.
- Supabase stores the site's content, reader accounts, newsletter subscriptions and feedback, and sends the sign-in emails.
- Google Fonts supplies the typefaces. Your browser loads them from Google's servers, which means Google receives your IP address.
- jsDelivr and cdnjs supply some of the code libraries the site uses. They also receive your IP address when your browser loads them.
- YouTube videos load only when you press play, through YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode. Until then, nothing is sent to YouTube.
Some of these providers are based outside the European Union. Where your data leaves the European Economic Area, we rely on the safeguards the GDPR provides for this, such as the European Commission's adequacy decisions or its standard contractual clauses.
We never sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone else for their own purposes.
How long we keep it
- Reader account: until you delete it or ask us to.
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
- Feedback: as long as it is shown on the site. Feedback that is not published is deleted after twelve months.
- Emails: as long as needed to handle your question.
Your rights
You may ask us to show you the data we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to limit how we use it, or to hand it over in a usable format. You may object to how we use it, and you may withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect what was done before.

If you believe we do not handle your data correctly, you can file a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit / Autorité de protection des données), www.dataprotectionauthority.be.
Changes
When the site changes in a way that affects your data, we update this statement and the date at the top.
